How's this? Greater Tripodero Medium Beast Initiative: +6 (+2 dex, +4 Improved Initiatve Speed: 60 feet Hit Dice: 6d10+6 (39 hp) AC: 17 (+2 Dex +5 Natural Armor) Attacks: 1 Bite +5, or 3 Kicks +5, or Spit Pellet +7 Damage: Bite 1d6+2 slashing, Kick 1d3+1 Face/Reach 5 foot X 5 foot/ 5 feet Special Attacks: Spit Clay Pellet Special Qualities: Variable Height, Scent Attributes: Str 12, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 3, Wisdom 14, Cha 10 Skills: Listen +8, Spot +9, Hide +4 (+16 when ducking behind or beneath things) Feats: Improved Initiative, Weapon Focus (Spit Pellet), Point Blank Shot CR: 3 Terrain/Climate: Any Temperate Forest or Jungle Organization: Solitary, Mated Pair, or Family (3-6) Treasure: None The Tripodero is a rare hairless animal with three telescoping legs that work like a camera tripod, and a tail like a kangaroo. When collapsed, the Tripodero is rather short and dumpy and goes scurrying through the sagebrush and chaparral, pushing it aside with its head, which is nearly all snout. When it wants to see where it is going, however, or when hunting food, the animal merely pulls its legs out and gives a push with its powerful tail until he telescopes himself up to the proper height. When it sights its prey, it takes careful aim with its snout and bends forward to the correct shooting position to guard against recoil. Then it lets go with a powerful quid of sun-baked clay which it always carries in its left jaw, knocking its victim senseless. Thereupon it lowers himself to about the height of a jack rabbit, shoves his snout out ahead of him and bores his way through the manzanita and buck-brush to its kill, where it stays until the last scrap is devoured. While some species of smalelr tripodero do not have neough force to harm larger creatures with their peblble spitting attacks the Greater Tripodero is a confirmed man-eater. Skills: The Tirpodero has a +4 racial bonus to spot and listen checks. The Tripodero gains a +12 circumstance bonus to Hide checks when using it's telescoping limbs to duck behind or beneath things. COMBAT Spit Clay Pellet: The Tripodero instinctively creates and collects these small pellets of sun dried clay which it uses as ammunition, spitting them with great force once per turn as a standard action. The clay pellets have a range of 60 feet and deal 1d6 points of bashing damage. In addition creatures struck by a pellet must make a fortitude save (dc 15) or be stunned for 2d4 rounds. Variable Height: The tripodero can telescope its legs up or down, being as short as a jack rabbit or as tall as a girafe. With this ability it can climb over and under many things, allowing it great maneuverability. In addition the Tripodero may, once per turn as a free action, extend the range of one of it's kick attacks to thirty feet. This action does not provoke an attack of opportunity.
