Trollshape/Dragonshape your familliar

Seems to me that these spells would be more usefull cast upon your familliar than cast upon yourself. Other than the risk of a dead familliar, which isn't that high with Trollshape against most opponents, there's very little downside.

I think that would probably work. I guess that these spells were made "Personal" to avoid casting them on others, but they forgot the familiar's Share Spells ability...

Yeah, that's quite similar to the original Polymorph. I've actually done that on a few occasions already. :D Biggest downside is the low hit points (I don't think the new spells change those either, but at least there are the temporary hit points).

I've just thought of a very weird loophole combining this concept with the Lurking Familiar feat, which grants your familiar Cover so long as it occupies your space.

Technically, a Medium spellcaster could ride a Large creature such as a troll to share its space, and certainly they could ride a Huge red dragon. With this feat, the polymorphed familiar gains Cover at all times, and can make a Hide check to conceal itself beneath its rider and escape notice.
