Being unconscious for a round is going to put the PC's at a disadvantage, but it won't directly kill anyone unless you, the DM, choose to have the attackers move to the sleeping characters and coup-de-grace. Which, if they've ignored all your warnings about being in a dangerous area and possibly attacked during the night, is entirely appropriate.</p><p></p><p>Their actions have to have consequences. Deciding that constantly being at full strength is more important than hitting your deadline is a valid tactical choice. It's also the wrong one in many circumstances, so if they do that, they should fail.</p></blockquote><p></p>
