I'm not sure what I thought of this episode. I think ultimately it was another episode that didn't really have focus. In fact, I'm sure more than ever now that when they were writing this episode and last week's episode, they has enough for one really long episode, but not enough for two. What I would have done is make Tara's storyline one episode, and the rest of it in the other. Eric flying was cool. The Queen was boring and annoying, and honestly based on the stuff said about the book here, that whole scene seemed to be a wink and nudge at the people who have read the books. Compared to Godric or the public relations lady or even Stan and Isabel were more realistic as leaders than the Louisiana Queen. The one part I did appreciate, and I don't know if this was AB or Moyer or from the books, was Bill essentially thinking the same thing I did. Regardless of who thought of it, Moyer pulled off the irritation great. Otherwise, that whole scene was utter garbage, and could have been cut. Bill could have provided a recap when he got back to Bon Temps. Jason and Andy continue to be comedy gold. The whole exorcism plot this week, from Tara's escape to Lafayette/Sookie's capture, was certainly a let down. There were some nice touches - Lafayette's PTSD, Tara's minor immunity to Maryanne... but overall, not that great. Despite the "cliffhanger," it seems obvious to me that Bill's leading questions with the Queen were because he's realized Maryanne doesn't want Sam anymore, but Sookie. Sam and Bill will team up, and it will be like Jason and Andy, only less comedy and more angst.
