For my upcoming Forgotten Realms game, I need a purple dragon. The Purple Dragon of Cormyr, to be precise. I've started working on it, but I'm not sure if I'm happy with how it's coming out. There was a purple dragon in an old 2nd ed Dragon magazine that I'm loosely converting, but it's rough going. Here's what I've got so far:
Gargantuan Purple Dragon, CR 24-ish
Str 40 Dex 10 Con 28 Int 14 Wis 15 Cha 14
HD 38d12+342 (595 hp)
Spd 40 ft Fly 200 ft (clumsy)
AC 42 (-4 size, +36 natural armor)
BAB +38, attack +49
Fort 51 Ref 36 Will 38
DR 20/magic
SR 35
Frightful Presence DC 31
Spell-like abilities unknown thus far
Energy breath weapon 24d8+24, Save DC 44
br has 3 modes:
* cone for small groups -- save for half dmg
* cloud for large number of moderately dangerous foes -- take half dmg, save for 1/4 dmg
* energy "blade" vs one opponent -- save at 5 DC 48 for half dmg. Searing hole created cannot be healed normally, and must have cure disease cast on it before healing will begin. On a roll of a 20 on a d20 by the dragon, a limb is severed by this "blade"
This energy weapon is so bright in all forms that it may cause temporary blindness as well
That's all I've got so far -- no skills or feats, no spell-like abilities yet -- but I'm kinda worried about it so far. What do you all think? What should I do?
