Message: <blockquote data-quote="GreyLord" data-source="post: 8479603" data-attributes="member: 4348">Two Posts, one on the legal items and one on what I saw on their Indiegogo.  This on the legal...This should have more attention as I think this is the REAL catalyst of what the Lawsuits are going to involve (if there are lawsuits).  This is a legitimate legality which is occurring.  I do not know what steps the TSR company held by Justin LaNAsa intend to do next, but it could be a case in court (or otherwise).  From a certain point of view (I do not think it would carry weight in court, but I could see it as a point of view) I could imagine they might feel bullied.  Star Frontiers is one of seven items WotC is pointing out regarding Trademark and Copyright infringement.This may be MORE complex then what individuals on this thread are pointing out regarding these trademark items.There should be no question whether LaNasa's TSR can use the old art and branding from the original TSR.  In my opinion (not a legal, court decided opinion...mind you as it is MY opinion) they CANNOT.  It is pretty obvious that this would be infringement.ON THE OTHERHAND, the question is whether WotC can continue using them as well.  They MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO, depending on who holds the current rights.  If WotC holds the rights, it's probably clean cut, but if they do not ( and that a company or individual was able to get the rights to TSR calls that into question in my mind) then it gets a LOT MORE MURKY.It's murky enough that this notification is basically shots over the bow in warning of an impending lawsuit of there is not compliance.The question then would be if LaNasa's TSR actually owns the rights to the name, if they have the money to fight such a case.  It's pretty murky if that is where they are at, and I don't think it is clear cut from either direction at this point (it is clear LaNasa cannot use the art or items specific to the property owned by WotC, but WotC may not be able to use anything with the words TSR or art with it if they do not currently OWN those rights and if LaNasa does, it makes it even murkier on what WotC is able to do and if they may even owe LaNasa).Easiest way for WotC to win is to draw out the case until LaNasa cannot afford to defend it anymore (which is a strategy corporations have used), which...I would say would equal a form of bullying the smaller individual.That doesn't mean WotC wins necessarily, they just make it so the other individual without large pockets gives up because they cannot continue.Whatever it is, I think your posts above (linking to Tenkar's which is where it is actually located) is right on the money on what this is REALLY all about.</blockquote>
