Restoring the woods There are a few ways you can do this: -Artifact hunt: Perhaps there is a long-lost Elven or Druidic artifact (or series of enchanted items) that could be used to restore the forest to its former health. Or, a sacred animal could be required to be found. -Reuniting the tribes: Perhaps the Sylvan deities are waiting for the various Elven tribes to be reunified under a single banner. The Seelie Court needs a high king, but the various Fey subraces and related peoples (Satyrs, Centaurs, etc.) don't know who that should be. -Ritual magic: Perhaps there is a touchstone site, ley line node, or part of the forest not yet blighted that could be the seed of a new forest. See "Princess Mononoke" for ideas on such a rebirth. -Defeat the evil: Now that Undead and other monsters roam freely through the woods, maybe the infestation needs to be driven out. Of course, armies could mass, parties could undertake strike missions against the leaders of the evil forces, and spies could work for multiple factions... -Outside aid: Perhaps in their previous idyllic isolation, the Elves forgot that they needed the other free races. Perhaps the key to restoring their forest lies not among the Elven refugees but in working with their more urban Dwarven, Gnomish/Halfling, and human neighbors, who may not be keen on restoring a powerful magocracy in their backyards. Good luck, and happy gaming!
