Turning undead rolls above 20

Last night my cleric, due to house rules and natural 20's, rolled over 50 on his rebuke/turn undead roll.

The chart only goes as high as 22. Even without house rules my roll would have been 24.

Is there a chart somewhere that breaks down how many hit dice you can affect with numbers past those in the PHB? I suppose I could extrapolate the numbers if we needed it. In this case the DM just agreed that was enough to get the job done.

Thanks

It is very possible for a cleric under the normal rules to get turn check results in the high 20s or low 30s. All you need is a high charisma.

The chart has limits for a reason. They *want* certain undead creatures to be too difficult to turn, especially for lower level characters. They put caps on the table to keep PCs from being able to turn creatures far more powerful than they are, regardless of the die roll.

In other words, there is no official chart because they don't want you doing it. The limit is just that: an intended limit.

Hmm. I thought 3.5 was making things clearer for us and I don't agree with the limit suggestion. Oh well.

Maybe there is a chart in the epic book.

Yes, the turning chart ends there. You just can't turn/rebuke any undead with HD higher than your effective Cleric level +4, no matter how much the turning check result goes beyond 22.
