Nope not an error, a feature;) When you have 2 defenders working in tandem then any guys that engage them in melee is going to be in trouble. It is not broken or over powered. You have to consider that: 1. The party has to have 2 defenders. Now that could be in the place of another role (in which case the party are not going to be as good in that area) or it is a larger party and can have an extra defender (therefore more enemies) 2. 4E has a lot of movement. If the defenders both stick together it leaves more options to enemies moving around them. But in the traditional 10' corridor......2 defenders rock! 3. The fighters can only do one of these each per round (unless they get some feat like 3E combat reflexes). So IMO it is not broken. In 4E there we have seen heaps of synergies between to or more characters, and IMO that is a big goal of 4E....to make players use tactical thinking to get the most out of their powers to defeat the baddies. If I were you I would wait a little until you have the full rules and give it a go, see what you think:) ps How the weather there? It is a miserable rainy day here in NZ and your post made me think of the great time we had in Italy last time I was there....aaahhh the food and wine, in lovely weather! :D
