Objects of great value depicted by the pigments —precious metals, gems, jewelry, ivory, and so on— appear to be valuable but are often made of tin, lead, paste, brass, bone, and other such inexpensive materials as long as their total value does not exceed 20,000gp. The user can create normal weapons, armor, and any other mundane item (including foodstuffs) up to this same value.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Objects depicted by the emulsions use the <em>Animated Paint Object </em>monster rules. Their abilities are determined by size and partially according to the actual object depicted. Created creatures that already exist in the campaign world gain the <em>Painted Creature </em>template. Creatures that are wholly new and have no published equivalent are created using the <em>Invented Paint Creature </em>guidelines.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">The work requires a Craft(paint) check made each day against a DC 15 normally or a DC 25 to duplicate a specific individual. Progress is determined using the Craft skill rules with the item price equaling the intended creature or object's HD x 100, the DC multiplier equaling its challenge rating subracted from 25, and the material costs according to its size. One jar of Nolzur's emergent emulsions can create 20 diminutive, 4 tiny, 2 small, or 1 medium creature or object. Large sizes require 4 jars, Huge 9, Gargantuan 16, and Colossal 25.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">For example, a drow elf created with the <em>Painted Creature </em>template would use the Craft(paint) DC 15 (unless it was a specific individual).
