Distributor solicitations have gone out for two new books for Shadowrun 6th Edition, the plot book Scotophobia and the new printing of the core rulebook Shadowrun Sixth World City Edition: Berlin. The new plot book Scotophobia (which means “fear of the dark”) updates the setting events kicked off in Cutting Black, Slip Streams, and Astral Ways. The machinations of the demon-like entities of the metaplane of Dis are coming to fruition as they threaten the stability of the astral plane and could endanger the entire world. Like the previous plot books, Scotophobia presents events that set up the setting storyline for the coming year with posts on the in-universe Jackpoint underground social media site with commentary by its users. The hardcover will be available in game stores and can be pre-ordered on Amazon (affiliate link) with a release on November 22 and a retail price of $49.99. The new printing of the core rulebook Shadowrun Sixth World Edition is also on its way including new setting information with the City Edition: Berlin. From the initial announcement prior to the book’s Gen Con preview: The new setting material comes from CGL’s German partners at Pegasus Spiele, who also wrote the German language sourcebook Berlin 2080. At this time, it’s unclear how digital editions will be handled. The first printing of the Shadowrun Sixth World Core Rulebook on DriveThruRPG was automatically updated to the City Edition: Seattle including the rules updates and errata. Further errata will be included in the City Edition: Berlin, but at Gen Con where both books were previewed, Catalyst Game Labs stated that the book would not be updated to preserve the city information for Seattle for those who purchased that edition, but it wasn’t clear if the City Edition: Seattle would be updated with the newest errata, or if there will be a way for those who already own that edition to get the Berlin setting material without purchasing the core rulebook a second time. The hardcover for Shadowrun Sixth World City Edition: Berlin will be available in game stores on November 22 with a retail price of $49.99.
