It's been done before, but I'll do it again. In the campaign I'm playing in, we've come up with some interesting ways of trying to balance Two-Weapon fighters with Two-Handed fighters. I decided to share these ideas with the boards, in hops of sparking someone's imagination. These ideas are adapted from other peoples', and I take credit only for the way I've poorly worded things. The Two-Weapon Combat feat, IMC, automatically confers the benefits of Improved TWC and Greater TWC, offering off-hand iterative attacks the moment you're able to take them, with no additional feat cost. That means that with one feat, this combat style is viable, but still lags behind Two-Handed fighters, in that a feat has been spent for the possibility to deal comperable-to-Two-Handed damage, at a to-hit penalty. However, I've cobbled together another feat I'm calling Dual Strike, to help solve this problem. Dual Strike allows you to make one attack with both weapons, at TWF penalties and at the cost of your comperable off-hand attack, that is counted as a Two-Handed weapon for the purposes of Strength bonus damage and Power attack. This feat can be used as a Standard Action, or as part of a Full Attack. If you have 3 Attacks due to High BAB, the TWF feat will grant you 3 off-hand attacks, and at the cost of these offhand attacks, you can make 3 Dual Strikes. Or 2 Dual Strikes and 2 normal attacks, or 4 Normal attacks and 1 Dual Strike. Prescision damage is added only once, but enhancement bonuses (And bonus dice from things like flaming) are added in seperately from each weapon. A Dual Strike possesses the poorer Threat Range of the Two Weapons (assuming they're not identical), but on a successful Critical Hit, you Multiply all the weapon damage dice by 2, regardless of the weapon type (Special Magical bonuses to crit multiplier are added) I'd like to know what the ENWorlders think of these ideas, and if anyone could help me come up with Prereq's for Dual Strike I'd be much obliged. I'm currently looking at BAB 6+, TWF, Dex 15+... - Kemrain the Dualist. If clarafication is required, you have but to ask. (Edited for Formatting.)
