MinaAndGear.jpg

This is from the artist Tiina Purin from Epilogue.net

Saw it and thought that it would make a neat monster for my homebrew

From the artists words

"Mina is from the dead swamps of the ringed planet Coron (same planet as Noc'lore, Capamoo and Copernicus). She was hatched from an egg pod and raised by her tribe. As with all the young in her race, her parents remain anonymous. As a young child she would wonder off the the swaps borders where she found wreckage of vehicles, weapons and various scraps of metal for her collection. Around the age of 9 she built Gear, her Robotic squirrel companion. When she reached adulthood she broke off from the tribe for nothing more than to see the world outside the swamp. At one point Gear breaks down and due to her horrible sense of direction she ends up getting horribly lost.
(Mina is the nickname I was given in middle school)

Gear was built for companionship and acts as Mina navigator. He has a very crude built-in voice chip and speaks in a high pitched metallic garble. Only Mina understands it. His tail is highly jointed and encased in a flexible rubber (like a bike chain) to keep from snagging in his mistress' hair. The tail splits into four section and spins like a helicopter rotor to allow crude flight for more accurate navigation. He can’t go very high.
(Gear is based on my last adopted squirrel, Craimer, and a sign of my growing obsession with Robots)

If you haven't written her up already, I'd appreciate if you wouldn't. I'm flattered that you like my character, but she is my character.

No problem, and sorry for taking so long to reply Tiina,

I will honor the request not to write her up, and I thank you for the inspiration she provided me

The standard alien from a biologically odd world background makes aberration or magical beast more appropriate.

Hatched from an egg pod, furred and web-toed but mixing mammalian and other order traits. Heavily divergent from the basic humanoid body plan, as much quadrupedal as bipedal. I'm definitely favoring aberration type based on picture and description.

Really? I don't see how being from another planet automatically makes you either an aberration OR a magical beast. At most, It may give an Extraterrestial or Alien subtype (as in d20 future). Several Monstrous humanoids and even humanoids are hatched from eggs (such as lizardfolk). As for mixing mammilian and other order traits, like many monstrous humanoids (medusa, minotaur, or even the quadrupedal centaurs)??

Again, quadrupedal, like the Centaur? How about the Yuan-ti, some of which are almost completely snake-like, yet still Monstrous Humanoids.

From the description, I would say Monstrous Humanoid. Maybe even Humanoid.

That all said, I doubt this discussion should go beyond this, as the artist and creator has requested us not to. I hope she does not mind this level of debate/discussion, and if she does so, she can let us know and we will stop.

TINA this pic rocks Would you Stat it out? Or do you care if i stat it out so long as i dont Show anybody the stats outside my Personal gameing groupe?
