Tyrants of the Nine...

First Post
Just picked up Tyrants of the Nine Hells book and read it. Now I'm looking for some good story arcs with which to create a campaign (or a few adventures).

Anyone got some ideas they want to throw out? Or know of some ready-made modules that I may look at?

Basically, I'm looking for any ideas to incorporate Hell into my campaign story. All help is appreciated.

These two ideas really don't deal with Baator itself, but are good introductions to devils in general.
-An easy way to quickly incorporate it is to have a devil make contact with one of the PCs (preferably one with a dark family past or one who has never known his family) demanding that the PC fulfill a Faustian contract made between the devil and one of his ancestors.

-In a similiar vein, one or more PCs is in such desperate circumstances (kingdom is about to be taken over, desires more power to defeat an enemy, dying, loved one has died, the usual) that he believes drawing up a Faustian contract is the only possible way out of it.

As for ready-made modules, I don't think you'll find any WotC 3.X modules. If you don't mind converting from older editions, AD&D had a few. Off the top of my head are Fires of Dis and A Paladin in Hell.

These two ideas really ....

Thanks Ordbyrht. I appreciate the guidance. I don't mind the older edition at all. I'm just trying to find plot elements that I can use/interweave into my own campaign. Making conversion to later editions is a non-issue.

I've definitely thought about presenting the PC's with a Faustian Pact, but I don't think any PC would accept the pact outright. Instead I think it might be better to incorporate an NPC who has accepted a pact and only reveal this fact to the players gradually. In other words, make the revelation a part of the saga spanning only a couple adventures or so.

However, then I'm left to determine the nature of the pact and what ramifications will ensue once the NPC is either thwarted/killed or allowed to realize his final intentions. Another thought, is have/allow the PCs to chase the NPC into Baator once he has died and become a lemure. Then kill him on the plane of Baator so that he forever dies. A side-adventure could involve acquiring proper allowances to travel Baator safely.

Actually, one my bosses has arranged a non-Faustian pact with a pit fiend. But I'm looking for a lower level, more common NPC to make to true Faustian pact.
