Uakari - singing sloth people of the woods

I think it looks great so far.

I'm not experienced in balancing ECLs for creating PCs, but this seems more powerful than a human. Granted, there may be some mathematics in balancing their stat modifiers which I haven't fully internalized.

well, elves and dwarves have powers that humans don't have. it's a question of balance - i can reduce some modifiers here or there if need be.

Looks good, BOZ. The ability stats balance in comparison to the other ECL+0 races. The bonus to Hide and Move Silently in deep forests should probably be small. Maybe +2 or so?

Demiurge out.

Since the description states that they wear minimal clothing (and thus, probably little armor), I'd give them a natural armor bonus of at least +1, maybe +2.

For attacks, I'd go with the obvious 2 claws option (since the sloths I can think of usually have large claws to help them climb), and probably give them a rake attack with their rear claws. Alternatively, you could give them "opposable feet", like some primates have, where they could wield a dagger or other light weapon with their feet for an additional attack (with additional penalties, of course).

how about a pounce/rake routine? jumping down from trees onto someone, you know. but i think they would only be able to do it from a pounce, not melee.

That attack sequence has traditionally required two abilities, linked in their descriptions:

Pounce (Ex) linked to Jumping or generic movement, and Rake (Ex) linked to Pounce. I have yet to see that routine combined into one ability.
