It's a bit of a mixed bag. There is a section on pre-generated Star Wars NPCs (original ones, not from the movies, books, etc) and thir histories/backgrounds, a section with Stat blocks for generic NPC (followed by a section describing various Star Wars creatures and monsters (most of which are reprints from the original Alien Anthology), a section on droids, then a chapter covering miscellaneous topics such as new feats, new equipment, variant rules etc. Most of the art is smallish portraits and critter illustrations - there isn't a lot of art for the sake of atmosphere here. Art quality, like much of the Star Wars line, varies from very, very good to rather mundane and disappointing. Editing seems solid, with no glaring errors, though I've hardly gone over it with a fine toothed comb. Suitability as a D&D monster source is marginal. The creatures only take up a part of the book, so you'd be paying for a lot of pages you won't use. There isn't a lot of variety in the monsters - they're all pretty much physical combatants and that's it, unlike most D&D monsters, especially of higher level, that have supernatural abilities. PCs with flying magic will mince most of them. Some of the monster pictures have recognisably Star Wars characters and/or equipment and/or scenery in them which may bother you. I've concentrated on the monsters here since that is what you seemed most interested in. From a Star Wars point of view, while I'm really not a fan at all of all the pregenerated NPCs WotC seems to be putting in all their products lately, the generic NPC stat blocks are handy, the new droids are good, especially the various big combat droids from ep 2, and some of the new rules are pretty nifty. Hope this is helpful.
