Ultimate Prestige Classes Volume I is a huge compilation of prestige classes useful to just about any GM. It contains 102 prestige classes, as well as decent guidelines for building or evaluating others for use in your campaign. 13 of these classes were drawn from an online project known as the Netbook of Classes, which is pulled together, edited and published by several volunteers from the Fantasy Community Council. Netbooks have a long tradition on the internet of offering free fan-generated gaming material. The Fantasy Community Council has committed to continue doing this, but under the Open Game License established by Wizards of the Coast. This means that their members edit the classes to comply with the open game license, so they refer only to material that is also open gaming content, and are themselves OGC as well.
The Netbook of Classes is one of several teams working to produce free, quality Open Gaming Content for use with the d20 system. Together, these teams form the Fantasy Community Council, which can be found at www.fancc.net. Their sister netbook, the Netbook of Feats, was also a source for many of the feats found in our other recent compilation, Ultimate Feats, and has provided feats for several other d20 publications. Authors who submit their work to the Netbook of Classes (and the Netbook of Feats as well), keep the copyrights to their submissions. The Netbooks provide constructive criticism and advice, and a published forum for distribution of their work.
Because of their adherence to the OGL, we were able to use 13 of their published classes for our Ultimate Prestige Classes Volume I. Our project leader read through all the classes collected in Volume I and the first draft of Volume II, and selected those classes which offered something unique and yet fit the concept of our own compilation. We would like to thank the Netbook of Classes in particular, and the Fantasy Community Council in general, for their hard work in compiling the various netbooks for use by the gaming community. If you are interested in their projects, their website is at this address: www.fancc.net. There are links to all the various netbook projects at this site.
Unfortunately, due to an oversight, the names of the authors of those classes were left out of our Section 15 copyright statement. We apologize for any unintentional grief this may have caused. There was never any intention to overlook these authors or infringe on their copyrights, and we are sending out this statement to correct our oversight. We are also inserting a corrected section 15 in all of our remaining copies of the book.
Below is a revised credits list, including all those classes which were cited, as well as the ones that were not.

Congratulations to the authors of the 13 classes chosen for inclusion in Ultimate Prestige Classes Volume I. As a group, you were the largest non-Mongoose contributors to this 256-page book.
Also, thanks are due to the authors for not only raising this potential problem to us but also doing so much work in helping us rectify it. Long live the Netbooks!
