Unconfirmed Dark Sun World Book

D&D 5E (2024) Unconfirmed Dark Sun World Book

The official lore in 2nd Ed could say something but you can hope it will be retconected or rewritten. They'll invent some excuse to justify the presence of aasimars, for example the result of a successful ritual for a reincarnation spell as a reward for the most loyal and competent servants.

How about transferring land from another world......

Do you mean any thing like the "Sundering" in the Realmspace (FR)? Yes. Maybe it is Vecna's fault. The time travel was official in DS 2nd, and without any chronomancer guild working like timecop Athas could have suffered its own version of multiversal war.

The Athaspace is not in the same material plane of the other settings. This could allow space for a possible spin-off.

And also the Athaspace could be something like a demiplane of dread(Ravenloft) created by "elemental lord spirits" instead the dark powers to punish some old enemy who lost some titanomachy conflict in a previous age.

Maybe there wasn't a primal vs gods war but more a titans+gods coalition against other titans+gods alliance. And the true reason of this war was a wicked conspirancy by infernal powers.

* Now I imagine a version of DS where the PCs can be Athasian ghosts. The challenge or danger? They need some "fetters" to can interacting with the physical world. Do you remember Disney's "Coco" where when nobody remembers a dead person this disappears.

Why? What good reason is there to be shackled by bad ideas, bad design, etc. Not saying that’s what Dark sun has, though I’m sure it does, but there’s always a good chance to make things better.
Because that's what contributed to its success as a campaign setting and established its fanbase.

Dark Sun fans would vastly prefer a "Lord of the Rings" version of Dark Sun over a "Rings of Power" one. However, the latter seems far more likely seeing who's in charge of D&D these days.

Who is in charge of D&D that makes you think that?
