undead construct In the game I was running just last night I pitted my players against a Screaming Silver Golem. Basically one of the players, ( a halfling thief )ticked off a powerful sorcerer who had every halfling in town rounded up and thrown into a pool of molten silver he prepared with spell components from various necromantic spells and a curse. The 25 halfling souls were bound into this molten silver body and could only be released when they killed the aforementioned halfling. Just to make matters worse the creature is driven to kill every halfling it encounters until its mission is complete. Below is the monster, please forgive anything I may have left out. Screaming Silver Golem HD: 19d12 (154 hp) Init: +2 (dex) Speed: 30 AC: 27 (+15 natural +2 dex) Att: 2 slams + 19 melee Spit molten blob +18 ranged Dmg: Slam 2d10 +9 Molten blob 4d6 1st rd , 3d6 2nd rd, 1d6 3rd rd Special attacks:Spit molten silver Stunning scream molten blood Special Qualities: As a construct and as undead DR 20 /+3 fast heal 10 Saves: Fotitude +5 Wil +6 Reflex +7 Abilities: Strength 29 Dexterity 15 Constitution - Intelligence 13 Wisdom 13 Charisma 1 CR 16 ( not really sure any ideas?) Immune to all spells except fire (which heals it of the same points of damage it inflicts) and spells with the Holy descriptor which do double damage. Any spell which does some other kind of damage in addition to holy damage deal only the holy damage. Turns as a vampire with a +4 bonus. Ghost touch weapons deal normal damge ignoring DR and Fast Healing. Stunning Scream: The golem emits a tortured scream as it nears a halfling. All who hear it must make a Willpower save DC 18 or be stunned for for 1d4+1 rounds. Halflings add 4 to this DC. Pit Molten Silver: The golem can spit a blob of molten silver up to 120 feet. The glob does 4d6 dmg on striking. On the next round it does 3d6 and on the following round it does 1d6 damage. This is a ranged attack. Molten Blood: The thin silver shell of the golem surrounds a body of molten silver. Any attack that does more than three points of damage to the golem breaks the shell causing it's "blood" to spew forth dealing 1d6 +1 damage (Reflex DC 18 for half damage). In addition any weapon of metal that breaks the skin becames hotter on each successful attack. By the second attack the metal deals 1d4 heat damage to the unsheathed hand. This increases by 1d4 on each successive attack. The player must make a Willpower save at the end of each round with a DC equal to the damage this affect causes to retain the weapon. Each attack the player forgoes reduces the heating effect by one category. I would appreciate some feedback on this monster concerning It's game balance, Challenge rating and abilities. I hope this was what you were looking for.
