There, it will devour the frontal lobe and, through the secretion of special enzymes, assume control of the victim’s body and lay hundreds of eggs within the brain cavity. Once these eggs hatch, the host provides both protection and a ready source of food for the larvae. These “dread earwig zombies” persist until the larvae have devoured the brain entirely, a process that takes roughly two weeks for a Medium-sized host. During this time, the zombie is dominated (the only command being to attack any visible living creature).
