If the death mage is disturbed during the ritual, he must start all over again. The ghoul is not automatically under the control of the death mage, who must attempt to command it in order to bring it under his influence.</p><p><strong>Skeleton:</strong> At 2nd level, the death mage may animate 2 HD worth of skeletons or zombies. To do so, the death mage must spend an hour uninterrupted, performing the dark rites that will bring undeath to the corpse(s). The bodies that are to be animated must be appropriate for the sort of undead the death mage wishes to create.
