There he died, but not before he completed the ritual to return as a lich. </p><p><strong>Mummy:</strong> A mummy is an undead creature who went through a lengthy embalming process and was then resurrected for nefarious reasons. They are often used as guardians of ancient tombs, though some texts mention mummies who rose from their tombs by sheer force of will. </p><p><strong>Ravenous Corpse, Daevar:</strong> A “daevar” (the elven name for a ravenous corpse) is a long-dead corpse possessed by a spirit from the In-Between. </p><p><strong>Skeleton, Bog-Standard Skeleton:</strong> An unintelligent undead spirit inhabits the skeleton of a fallen creature. Sometimes they can be the servant of a dark mage, but they have also been known rise on their own for reasons unknown... another sign of the strange times we live in. —Etahn </p><p><strong>Skeleton Eldar:</strong> When a spirit inhabits a skeleton of an Eldar, they are more powerful than your bog-standard skeleton. Some part of the magical power of the Eldar must still reside in the bones of these ancient beings, which makes them even more dangerous. </p><p><strong>Upir:</strong> An upir can feed upon a victim and through an arcane ritual turn its victim into an upir. The ritual must be performed at night, with the victim unconscious and drained of life (below 0 HP, but before true death at -10). The upir then gives part of his essence (and sometimes his own undead blood) to raise the victim. Afterwards the victim is wracked with hunger, and once they feed on another living, they become upir. </p><p><strong>Wight:</strong> Wights were people once, but by some curse or malady have become walking corpses. </p><p>Any humanoid slain by a wight becomes a wight in 1d4 rounds. </p><p>A character with negative levels at least equal to their current level, or drained below 1st level, is instantly slain. Depending on the creature that killed them, they may rise the next night as a monster of that kind. If not, they rise as a wight. </p><p><strong>Zombie:</strong> We haven’t yet discovered the cause of the zombie’s condition. Is it animated by dark magic, or by some infiltration of force from the Navirim?
