Encounter A – A5: Cavern Bend

The hallway condenses here into a natural tunnel. Characters entering this area sense a chill from the caverns ahead that sends a chill through their bodies. The air is still but a distant moan can be heard.

For effect, have light sources be dimmed for “unknown reasons”. The shadows dances with the light distorting the outlines of the characters making them look obscene and alien (maybe like illithids?). There is no real effect here, just flavor text to let the PCs imagination take over. It is a warning for what waits beyond in the caverns (Encounter B – Caverns), but that is all.

Encounter A – A6: Partially Collapsed Hallway

This hallway has part of the wall collapsed. The debris is passable but must be done by the players one at a time and at half-speed or risk falling (Balance check DC 15). Not a big problem for players now, but could be a problem if they have to retreat from Room 3 beyond and the hunting “Drow Siege Weapons” lurking there.
