Being the youngest, her father granted her wish to travel to the Kisai Monastery, where she began studying the art of war, the forms of the flesh, and the truth of the sword. It was here that the sorcerer Nabori first saw the girl. He became obsessed with having her, even asking, then threatening the Emperor for her. Failing in that, he attacked the monastery, using the forbidden arts of necromancy to fight his way to the girl. She stood against him, preferring death to his embrace. In the end, left without a choice, he slew the girl. Refusing to let her slip away from him the necromancer bound her spirit to the golden torque she wore, crafting her spirit into a form he found pleasing. The necromancer eventually fell to old age, hidden from the emperor’s men in the shadowy world of dreams where he fled. Miyoko, being dead as she was, was immune to the planes disruptive effects and remained alone, until befriending Garret Starlight and his friends. As a fluke of the necromancer's experiment upon her soul Miyoko is unable to wear clothes, or carry weapons that were not with her during the ritual which created her, or that she brings from the spectral planes to the material. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Combat</p><p>Miyoko will generally attack using the normal methods allowed to her as a monk, preferring to not reveal herself as anything other than a mortal woman. In dire need however she will use those supernatural abilities that come with her undead state. In the event that Miyoko is attacking unarmed she is capable of draining a beings memories, leaving terrible red welts as she does so. This is related to the Soul Stealing powers listed below. When she chooses to attack in such a manner she does an additional 2d6 points of damage and the memories are lost to the subject for 3d6 days.</p><p></p><p> Create and Command Undead: Should Miyoko kill with her life draining abilities the body will rise from the dead 7 hours after its death, under full control of Miyoko. The undead retains it hit dice and combat skills but its strength is now considered a 19. Additionally Miyoko is able to invest a portion of her self and her abilities within the creature. She may control up to three of these creatures at a time. </p><p></p><p> Frightful Presence: Miyoko is able to reveal her undead state, showing the terrifying visage she possesses beneath her beautiful exterior. Creatures with fewer than 12 HD within 60 feet of her must succeed at a Will save (DC20) to avoid the fear effect. On a failure, creatures with fewer than 4 HD become panicked for 4d6 rounds and those with 5 or more become shaken for 4d6 rounds.</p><p></p><p> Soul Stealing: Miyoko, like many sentient undead survive by absorbing life essence or, in the case of Miyoko she is also able to devour the soul of a being killed by her. To do so she must reveal her spectral eye that allows her at all times to see the astral plane, even in tine material world. If the creature is already dead the soul makes a Will save, DC 30, should it still live the DC is 15. The Necromancer who created her also made it possible to exist upon the essence of magic, a spell level each day is able to sustain her. While in the realm of the Fae Miyoko learned that she could also exist by swallowing a dream, siphoning away the power held in that state of the human mind. In any instance Miyoko reveals her spectral eye, which she will refer to as her Demon Eye, causing gouts of blue flame to erupt from the victim and absorbed by her through the demon eye. Additionally by revealing her Demon Eye Miyoko can instill a terrible paralysis among her victims. A Fortitude save with a –3 modifier prevents this, a failure causes paralysis for 2d4 days. </p><p></p><p> Possession and Reincarnation: Miyoko like certain types of undead is capable of possessing the body of a living being. The victim must make a Will save (DC 20) or be possessed. The victim is aware of all that transpires, and while in the state Miyoko has all knowledge and abilities of the host body. Miyoko is unable to do this against priests of 6th level or above, and paladins of 9th level and above. In the case that Miyoko has actually fed from the soul of the body in question she may place a soul of any being within the shell assuming this takes place within 2d6 hours of her capturing, or as she sees it, preserving the soul in question. </p><p></p><p> Etherealness: Though Miyoko is generally solid in the material plane this is only possible if she has fed recently. If she has not then she exists on the astral plane, able to see but not react to the physical world except with her demon eye. Miyoko is able to return to an ethereal state at will. </p><p></p><p> Spell Like abilities: Created to be the servant and lover of the Necromancer she was created with the ability to cast </p><p>particular spells. She may cast Shield Other three times a day. This damage is incurred regardless of her resistance to normal weapons. She may cast true Seeing three times a day, Death Knell once per day, and is able to cast death ward once per day. She is also capable of using the spell Charm Person three times per day.
