But couldnt it have fast healing? And even if it couldnt have regeneration-you can break rules in regards to templates and added abilities in improving monsters. The Dungeon Master has license to do so. Things that sucks about that is that it MUST be applied to one and only ONE spell. Nothing else. Violate SLA is more flexible if you've actually got them. There's also Vile Lance which creates a +2 Longspear that deals Vile Damage. Oh, and he's right, evil and undead are not immune to vile damage. Its particularly nice evil power vs evil power because those kinds of enemies are unlikely to have the resources at their disposal. BUT BE AWARE-Vile Fire and Vile Acid are still fire and acid, and still subject to resistance or immunity. But the funny thing is ANY suggestions people give you are subject to what books your Dungeon Master allows. Basically take a look at the "What Do You Ban" thread and you'll see how wildly different tables are. Some people dont even use Core as is. THING about that is the spell has to KILL something. You wanna pop that on a spell that only MIGHT kill something using up higher slots? It has to be damage dealing, so no Save/Die. Best way I can think to use it is to nuke a horde of terrified peasants, you KNOW they will die and you will get a small zombie horde. And even if the zombie horde of cruddy 2HD zombies (really, I'd prefer beefier monstrous skellys) exceeds your control limit, you can still let them run wild to cause chaos. Undead dont die, they get DESTROYED when they have 0 hp. You cant reanimate an undead except with specific spells.
