Here is a partial list of upcoming D&D 4E releases from WotC. Which of these interest you? Which do you think you will be buying? For my part, I am going to be giving Open Grave and Manual of the Planes a good look – I might buy one of them. The others listed here don’t do much for me.

Caves of Carnage
I won't be playing D&D 4 that much, but the dungeon tiles are useful for all kind of games (even though I have 14 sets by now ...)

Manual of the Planes is top of my list. I love the new cosomology, and this book should be a great read for me.

Martial Power is one I'll probably get, just to help flesh out the options for the PC's.

Adventurer's Vault, but it had better bring back most of the "Cool" magic items that were left out before.... Rod of Lordly Might, I'm looking at you....

Chris

Martial Power is a probable, as is Manual of the Planes and Open Graves if they are up to standard. If the Draconomicon is good that could also be interesting.

I have not been impressed with many of WotC's own adventures over the years, so those are less likely purchases.

Martial Power, definitely. Probably the Draconomicon and Undead books, and maybe the Manual of the Planes.

This will be the first edition where I buy most of the books.

Probably everything except the adventures. I say "probably" because I'm definitely down for everything except "Dungeon Delve." Once we get more info on that, I'll make a decision on it.

At the very least I'm planning on getting...

  • Martial Power
  • Draconomicon I: Chromatic Dragons
  • Manual of the Planes
  • Open Grave: Secrets of the Undead
  • Dungeon Delve

I'm going to try my best to get every single book, including the adventures, but those're my priorities.

No less then four Martial characters for Martial Power to cater to, so that ought to be nice. I wonder when Divine Power is gonna come out, though? That's the one I really want. Sadly, with only two Divine classes out, it may not be for a while. :(

Don't know anything about Manual of the Planes, but I gotta say, it'd be a dream come true if it provided lots of information on Sigil. I'd be ecstatic if one could run a Planescape campaign based off of information from that book.

Out of that list, Open Grave is the third book that I'm looking forward to, the most. If for no other reason then the simple fact that I'm not at all satisfied with the 4E vampire. I really, really, REALLY hope that Open Grave gives us more classic vampires. Vampires who turn into bats, wolves, and mist, who're burned by sunlight, warded by garlic, who can't enter homes without an invitation, cross running water, etc. And of course, rules for staking vampires would be fantastic. There's a reason vampires form their own genre, and that White Wolf was able to build an entire RPG around them. That's because vampires are just damn cool. It'd be nice if the 4E vampire reflected that coolness.

As for what's NOT on that list...

  • Against the Giants Booster Case
  • Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide
  • Tome of Treasures
  • Forgotten Realms Player's Guide
  • Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set
  • Demonweb Booster Case

I plan on playing Living Forgotten Realms as often as possible, so the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide and Forgotten Realms Player's Guide are must-haves. As for Tome of Treasures, I REALLY hope it includes weapons and equipment which were left out of the PHB. Lances, for instance, along with the repeating crossbow, whip, two-bladed sword, and so on. And while I don't expect it, rules for firearms would certainly be nice. I want a musket, damn it!
