It's well balanced, with more lore than its predecessor, and even the editing seems tighter. It's arguably as good if not better than some of the official Unearthed Arcana content and you should have no more problems if you incorporate it into your game than the Elemental Evil Player Companion.But I also wasn't blown away. It was what I expected and did what I wanted. It filled a need for more 5e monstrous races and helps people convert the Midgard campaign setting to 5e. It's a good product. And I'd allow most if not all the options in this book into my game. But it's also a safe product: the book doesn't break new ground or get experimental with the rules or give us something other than familiar mechanics (races and backgrounds) to play with. None of the options were bad, but none really caught my eye or made me excited.I'd recommend checking it out.
