Uresia d20

First Post
As many of you know, we published Uresia: Grave of Heaven, for BESM (Tri-Stat) a while back. Written by the supremely talented and witty S. John Ross, the book was exceptionally well-received by BESM fans.

With the release of BESM d20, we decided to release a d20 version of the book for d20 gamers. After all, it's a perfect setting for a light-hearted d20 fantasy campaign. Ian Sturrock, the writer of numerous well-received d20 products including such gems as Conan, stepped in to do the d20-ization of the book, translating S. John's Tri-Stat work over to the d20 system while fan-favourite artist, Niko Geyer, did a new cover image for the d20 book (Check out the cover). Pure and simple, if you're a d20 fan interested in a fantasy setting inspired by countless anime-esque video games, this is the book for you.

In S. John's own words:
Uresia is a world in which you can be a thrill seeker; here, thrill seekers are just as important as grim, sober heroes. A lecherous teenage can become king, a savvy chef can command a navy, and entire cities of the gods lie in ruin. Everything is up for grabs. It is an incredibly fun time to be alive, sail the enchanted seas, and carry a sword.

Be sure to let your retailer know you want Uresia d20 so they can pre-order it for you.

I wonder what S. John Ross is feeling at the moment about this announcement. Any chance he might want to do the d20 adaptation himself?

Here's what S. John posted on our message boards:

I'd be very pleased to see GoO publish a d20 Uresia book, though, since that would mean reaching new gamers that might not otherwise see it.

Mark already answered the question of what S. John thought of the d20 version (he's very happy about it).

As for him doing the d20-ization, I offered him the job first. This is his baby so there was nobody else on the short list for consideration until S. John turned it down. He's a very intelligent guy who knows his strengths and knows his weaknesses. He knows Tri-Stat and doesn't know d20. Thus, he very professionally turned the work down because he knew if he did it, it would not be up to his normal calibre of work. It's one of the many reasons I think S. John is "the man" (I respect freelancers who are willing to be honest about what they can and cannot do and are willing to turn down work that does not suit their strengths).

Ian was first on the short list of people I wanted after S. John due to his experience with d20 and ability as a writer. Thankfully, he was available and he turned in outstanding material.
