[urgent] flying creatures with strength damage

Bad Paper

First Post
e.g. an enfeebled dragon, or any other sizable creature with wings losing strength through magic or poison or whatnot

How does loss of strength affect flying? If I have a several-ton dragon that halves its Strength (or worse), at what point does it fall? Lose manueverability or speed? Ack!

This is urgent because my party is fighting "a few" dragons right now, their spell lists are dripping with Moon Bolts, and we resume play in eight hours.

The dragon loses flight capability when the dragon's strength reaches 0 (effectively paralyzed), or when the dragon's carried load (due to decresing strength) becomes greater than light.

However, if the dragon is not carrying anything, even though it weighs several hundred pounds, it can still fly with just a strength of 1. It doesn't actually need to carry it's own weight when flying.

Correct.

Unless you decide to rule-0. Fly with 1 Str when you weight a few tons ? :D
Then you should also houserule any movement mode, including walking. Then, you also need to add in your own weight to the load you are carrying. I think it makes some logical sense, but unsure if it would play well.

I remember a character falling to str 1 in one of our games. He role-played it, and decided he will crawl rather than walk. Sure, nothing forced him to do so. But if a STR 25 flying dragon fall to STR 1... I don't think you need specific rules for this. DM are made so that quick decisions can be made on the spot.
