[V:TM] Laminos; new clan/bloodline.

What the Laminos lack in Manipulation and leadership - qualities prized in their sister clan- it is made up in stealth and when needed subterfuge. They prefer to use these, rather then to start fights. This may seem like ill-fated people to have been chosen for the embrace, but the ideals of the clan spurn from there dealings with the Lasombra, whom they once were. The origins of the clan went up in smoke, around the time of the Anarch Revolt. The Lasombra were opposed to the idea of a clan split, and acted hostilely unfortunately, this caused the forced secrecy that they live in today.

Now the clan is accepting to other misfits, yet understandably reserved and suspicious; in them selves and of others.

Nickname: Wraiths

Sect: Deeply afraid of the past that might be uncovered; the Laminos keep away from other sects, and thus have placed them selves in the Independent sect.

Appearance: There are generally two variations on the Laminos appearance; one in the foreboding leather, these Laminos are the accepting ones that realize there going to be undead for a while. The other is the drama queens who wear very faint thin pale demeaning clothes.

Haven: Grave yards, and other dreary dark places, they rarely share any company even there own kin and keep to them selves.

Background: Most Laminos have a certain degree of detachment from all others socially. They lost out or are regarded as mad, or ahead of the times. Those who are from before the Anarch revolt, will have a very shadowed past.

Character creation: A high mental or social score almost always precludes a Laminos surviving, they do not prefer fighting, being most from the loser section of life, few of them have any talents yet those that do, meet final death later rather then sooner. What they lake thought they gain sometimes in knowledge, that they learnt whilst not socialising or through skills.

Clan Discipline: Auspex, Umbrachia (Form of Obtenebration), Obfuscate

Weakness: Hiding in a hole in a shadow, does not give you a great strength, the years relying on shadows to hide away. The Laminos cannot soak lethal damage and can be harmed by many of the same things as humans, but many of the elders refer to this as becoming more human then there brother clan.

Organization: The society that calls itself Laminos is a strange one. They are very unaccepting to strangers, but once you enter the circle you are welcomed, and protected. The thing this does is lower you eyes to the behind the screen backstab that happens on rare occasions. Fights don’t ensue as new leaders are not prized for the ability to make a ruckus.

Bloodlines: There are a few who would think to leave the relatively safe Laminos and even dare to oppose the vastly superior (in numbers) Lasombra.

Quote: You have nothing to fear but shadows, and when we surround you shall have no where to run.

I'll post up the new discipline next.

This should definite be qualified as a Bloodline.

Disciplines --
Auspex, Umbrachia, and Obfuscate:

Giving three mystical disciplines is probably a bit overpowered. If you have two mystical disciplines, you'll usually have a physical discipline as well. I would highly recommend dropping Auspex for Celerity -- speed is something that sounds necessary for this bloodline, Fortitude doesn't fit (especially if you're working on the premise of a quasi-Fortitude effect in Umbrachia), and neither does Potence (from the background material). I think Obfuscate is a good choice, though.

Weakness --
Cannot soak lethal damage:

Uh... why? The basics behind the vampire's ability to soak lethal damage come from a commonality among all vampires -- they're dead, and they don't have "vital" organs anymore. The only exception I've seen for this so far is in Time of Thin Blood, and they have it as a flaw available to very high generation (13,14,15) vampires only.

Lasombra cast no reflections -- I think you need to go somewhere with this, and possibly put a twist on their parentage's weakness. Or perhaps, going with the moniker for this bloodline, you might be able to draw some ideas from the now-defunct Wraith on the drawbacks/markings connected to the various Arcanoi -- I'd say the Castigate markings might be very interesting for this bloodline.

In the begining they were a whole new clan, but they got worked into being part of Lasombra...

On the disciplines, celerity was the next in line for the Auspex But I think it's ok as is, Malkavians get Auspex Demention and Obsfucate, Tremere three mystic disciplines along with setites. I could imagine them with only two disciplines.

I've had an idea for the weakness, they take an extra level of damage from sunlight and they can be seen extra well in light places, Ok after thinking about it it looks stupid, but I might be pulling on the right thread.
