Free League Press has announced a new sourcebook and new campaign for their horror RPG Vaesen. Today, the Kickstarter pre-launch page for Mythic Carpathia & City of My Nightmares for the Vaesen RPG went live, revealing new plans for the popular Nordic horror RPG. Mythic Carpathia is a new sourcebook detailing Central and Eastern Europe, including Prague. Most notably, this sourcebook brings in several mythic monsters into the game, including the Baba Yaga and the Vampire. The book was written by a team of Polish and Ukrainian writers and also includes three new adventures set in Prague, Ukraine, and Transylvania. Meanwhile, City of My Nightmares is a full-length campaign set in Stockholm, in which players investigate a series of murders that leads back to a mystery regarding the origin of the Society, the monster-hunting group players are a part of. Also announced as part of the campaign is a starter set for the game, with a box containing the usual materials (character sheets, dice, abridged rules) and an intro adventure titled The Haunting of Castle Gyllencreutz. No specific launch date has been announced, but we're expecting it to happen in the coming days. It is spooky season after all.
