Message: <blockquote data-quote="John Crichton" data-source="post: 2620519" data-attributes="member: 4779">I disagree.  Some shows have gimmicks, others have concepts and others are just there.  And I do understand advertising as well, which has alot to do potential spin.  VM was in no was advertised as a gimmick show.  Now a show like 24, that was a gimmick show.  Other times it's just advertising:  maybe it's star power (producer or actor), maybe it's a spin-off or maybe it is something like "every show takes place in real-time, over one hour and the whole season is one day."  The last one is a gimmick.  The rest are just advertising.And yes, you could try and drudge up a "gimmick" for just about any new show depending on promos or even perception but that's all it would be - looking.</blockquote>
