I'm about to start looking for a new job and the fisrt place I've started is the net. Now what are the good search engines?

I tried:
Thingamajob
Monster
Hotjobs

Not much luck.

BTW - If any of you know where anyone is hiring for a Mechanical Designer with a vast store of experiance using AutoCAD 12-2002 and AutoDesk Inventor 5 let me know. :(

Salutations,

Be sure to put your resume up at those sites- headhunters often search the resumes for companies that would rather not put up a general ad.

ashrem, wife says to try shawgrp.com, it is her co. and they frequently use folk such as yourself...if you cannot find the job links from there contact me, wife promised more help

Try www.grassisgreener.com.
This site will search other job boards and create a list for you.
I have found in my search for a new job that it is generally faster to use GIG than to check all of the other boards all the time.

Good luck in your search!!

When you get to the top don't forget the little guy that helped you find a good job site. ;)

Things are really starting to suck here. I was hired in as a draftsman with the promise of advancement should I prove to be any good.

Now, I do the job of the designer (who sucks) AND the detail drafting job. I figure, if I can find something else, I can either leave or use it as leverage to get better pay here.

Makes me sick. The Senior designer quit. Instead of promoting me, they hired some shmuck! He don't know jack. I spend most of my time standing over his shoulder, yet he ranks me and makes about half again what I do.

Sucks!

Dunno how attached you are to where you live, but http://www.craigslist.org has pretty good job listings for major metropolitan areas. You can also use Yahoo Careers, which found some jobs that Monster and HotJobs didn't -- and which doesn't list the same job three hundred times over and over again.

-Tacky, who isn't AT ALL looking at other jobs on his company computer

Try the city or county of the city you live. Also try the state they may be hiring. They are always looking for people, but they don't advertise well. Go down to the city hall. Just a thought, it would also be a cushy city job.
