[VERY OT]The price is right

This has very little place on an RPG board, but I can think of no better place that's filled with people somewhat like myself...

It's my first day off for summer. I wake up at about 10:30, roll over, grab a remote and flick on tv. I quickly realize it's time for my favorite lazy-bum activity in the morning: Watching The Price is Right. Flick over there, start watching, and then have a horrible realization: the announcer is different! Where is my best friend Rod, with his flamboyant sparkley suits!? What the HELL is this?! I laid there, stunned wondering if he was okay. Does anyone know what happened?

Any fan of the show would know, Geez. Rod committed suicide a few months back. He left a note explaining that he would rather die than utter "Come on Down" one more time. He then walked right in front of a freight train. No more Rod. Now Bob Barker is lonely and has to break in a freakin rookey.

From the officialy CBS Price is right page:

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to announcer ROD RODDY, who recently underwent prostate surgery. Burton Richardson will be filling in for Rod until June 5. Randy West will be the announcer from June 6-12. Rod is currently expected back on the air on June 13. Get well soon Rod!

Thanks crothian! I just found that myself now that my brain woke up and i thought to check their website! Alright, I'm happy now. I hope Rod has a speedy recovery!

KnowTheToe: You're playing in my game, aren't you...? You best watch yourself... death comes on swift wings to those who cross me.... :D

Cross you, I was trying to entertain you :)

Is there anyone else you would like to know about?

A bunch of kids from my college were on that show, and as is tradition, every bid they made ended in 69. One girl managed to win the whole showcase shebang with a bid of $16,969
