He was at Eton for school and there met Ivo Bligh, with whom he is still friends. At the age of 21 he briefly entered the military. The life of a junior officer did not suit him, however, and he resigned his commision after only a few years, having seen no action. At 25 he met and wooed Catherine Baer, a distant cousin and the daughter of Marquess Wolverton. Unfortunately, shortly before their planned wedding Catherine died of a sudden fever. Trevor went into a tailspin. He spent the next several years drinking, gambling and generally abusing his money. As a result, the family coffers are somewhat depleted (though still respectable). He was pulled out of this self-indulgent mire by another tragedy. His father died, leaving Trevor as Baron Walsingham. The process of overseeing the family fortunes has given Trevor some focus and he is now starting to pursue other interests. He keenly follows government policy (and is of course a member of the House of Lords).
