Volunteers needed! Wanna be EN World's Harry Knowles?

Well, that was fun

Does anyone feel like signing up as a newshound? I'm looking for 3-4 reliable newshounds to cover the Sci-Fi & Fantasy News page.

Basically, it involves finding links on the web related to sci-fi and fantasy books, movies and TV. I have a big long list of websites and links which I can provide. The idea is that we cover pretty much every article, review and news item we can.

As a (small) incentive, newshounds do get a few minor perks. They get a free Community Supporter account, free copies of all EN Publishing products and access to the super-secret Newshounds Forum (which isn't actually all that exciting, but still....)

Anyway, if you'd like to sign up for the power, glory and prestige of an EN World newshound, let me know either here or by email, and then I can send you my top-secret link list and a few brief guidelines.

Thanks, folks! :)

I wouldn't mind, as right now I'm out of a job and have nothing to do but amuse myself. Not in that way!

But I wouldn't want to be Harry Knowles. One, that man really needs to go on a diet. Two, he's just plain annoying when he writes his reviews.

Anyway, send me an e-mail (or I'll send you one), and we can talk it over.

Cool! You're the second volunteer!

I think the easiest way to handle this is for me to upgrade your account to Newshound now (it's the same as a Community Supporter account but also allows access to the newshounds forum). If you pop into the forum, that'll be the best place to discuss stuff.

I'd be willing to help out. I don't do much but surf around for stuff like that anyway...so I could at least make it useful.

Besides, I loved it when you put that news stuff up. E-mail me if you're still needing people...or I could e-mail you...or...bah...you get the idea. :)

Fantastic! Within a minute of me posting this, your account should be upgraded and you should be able to get into the newshounds forum. We've already started discussing stuff, so feel free to pitch in!

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it! :)

Russ-

I just sent you an email about volunteering, let me know if I can still be of help.

Thanks, Rich!

I've sent you an email, and you should be all set up! See you in the Newshounds forum! :)

I would be interested if you still need folks. I surf alot at work & home and post here more than I do in the RPG forums... :)

Woohoo! Thanks, John.

I'm not sure what this brings the total to, but we have a lot of volunteers now. Between us all, I think that our coverage of sci-fi/fantasy news is going to be without peer on the internet. :)

I've made you a Newshound; pop into the Newshound forum and you'll find some info etc. :)

Couldn't you have said the ENWorld's Moriarty (the movie geek, not Sherlock Holmes' arch-enemy)? Moriarty is a good reviewer and movie newshound. Harry Knowles is just... well, he's the guy who raved about Charlie's Angels 2 while panning The Matrix Reloaded.

Sounds like an interesting job, though. I'd volunteer my services if I weren't on a dial-up connection. Sounds like you've got some good people on board already, though. I'm sure John and the other guys will do a bang-up job. :)
