computer art computer art...meh...seems to me after the big flop with 4th...they would get down to business and do some truly great covers...these...meh, not so much. the type is rather bland...and to me the styles have no cohesion whatsoever. To make matters worse I saw a few of the interior art pieces for these books...*Shakes head* completely horrid..the Warlock art for it's descript is hideous looking...not some teeny flower puff girl art 3rd grade art project. Then comes the elves art on their descript page...jeesh...it's a wonder WETA doesn't sue WOTC for plagiarism. It's almost a direct copy of Rivendell from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, and that is the Art Directors fault plain and simple. Please take in mind I haven't seen all the art inside, and I'm sure well, hoping there are some truly great pieces in there. For me this hasn't tooted my horn or made me excited. I will most likely only peruse these books in the book store and get a chuckle. They won't get another dime from me. This is just my opinion as well...so it really doesn't matter, but it sure won't make me open my wallet and slide my credit card for a purchase(s). As the winner of the covers it has to be the Tiamat one...I wanted the beholder, but why in Mystra's name is a street vendor traveling with a dwarf in a dungeon...ugh...*Bangs head on desk* again..Art Directors fault..... Even the Tiamat one is not that great...it's what I call unfinished computer art..that tries to pass as Fine Art. I'm really looking forward to getting my chuckle next week at the book store.
