Pendrake tugs on the bars, really putting his back into it. When he hears the loud *click*, he stops for a second, just a little dumbfounded. The next thing he sees are three metal spears coming out from the sides of the window, perpendicular to the bars. And two of them slam into Pendrake's arms, breaking through his armour. (12 Damage!). Pendrake isn't able to move, but Aiken quickly leaps forward and pulls Pendrake backwards. "Are you okay?" Aiken is about to say, when he notices that Pendrake's eyes are glazing over. There must have been something on those spears (naturally). Pendrake starts to stumble around the alleyway. Pendrake fails both fort saves vs. poison, knocking his dexterity down by 2d6 points - and the DM rolled a 10. Dex is reduced to 4. The usually agile northman is having difficulty standing, and the world is swimming around him. He feels as if he were drunk, without any of the pleasant associations. Just before he falls to the ground, Pendrake thinks that the last few days, if something bad could happen to him, it has. Aiken is barely able to get Pendrake back to his feet. With the northerner out of focus, Aiken almost misses the fact that the spear trap seems to have knocked two of the bars out of place. It might be possible for him to squeeze in.... OOC: Listen check for Pendrake and Aiken, please. *** Meanwhile, the fight against the blacklily is falling apart horribly. Cepheus makes a quick stab, but the Blacklily leaps backwards. Ceph is a little taken aback, and is surprised to see the dog Triton pull back for a moment. In that opening, the Blacklily is able to make a fast counterattack. When the lily counterattacks, Ceph isn't able to dodge, and the flat of the lily's blade strikes Ceph's arm, numbing it temporarily. Blacklily Attack on Ceph (1d20+2=19, 1d6+1=2) two damage on ceph! 19 HP remain At that moment, the dog takes to the air, and bites down - hard - on the lily's shoulder. The man falls to the ground, and the dog starts biting at his face, furiously baring canines. Mearran is able to give a quick "halt!" command, and the dog pulls back. The blacklily is alive, although no one will ever call him "pretty boy" again. His face has been torn to pieces by the dog. END OF COMBAT Ceph's group has already attracted some attention. A few pedestrians have noticed the brawl, and are quickly walking in different directions, doing their best to pretend they haven't seen anything. But it's just a matter of time before someone calls the watch...
