Kaidan, the word, is actual Japanese, meaning "ghost story", but its an archaic term even to the Japanese, not really used since the 19th century and early 20th. Hora, the Japanicised version of "horror" is used more today to mean the same thing, essentially. Since my setting is largely based on the older stories and legends of Japanese folklore, its the reason for my choice. That said, its still not as meaningful as some more obvious known words to the west like samurai or ninja - so I add the moniker "the setting of Japanese horror" as an added definition to the title. Now a days, its more habit than intent, though.Another reason for longer titles, I created the Rite Publishing Way of the Samurai (PFRPG), except a year and a half later Legendary Games released Way of the Samurai, a completely different book. Now the only way to tell them apart (apart from content, cover design and publisher name) is the fact that "PFRPG" follows my title and their's doesn't. It sort of irks me that Legendary Games didn't check to see if that title had already been used. Really there's only a handful of 3PP that have created content for Pathfinder's oriental material, and I was the first since I released my work before the Jade Regent AP (by almost a year). All other 3PP oriental PF material have come after Jade Regent. It wouldn't have been much of an effort to look at the Paizo store and DTRPG. let alone here or the Paizo boards to see that the name already titled another product.</blockquote>
