[QUOTE="Tewligan, post: 5439970, member: 2191"] I bailed on one particular group for a few reasons: - The apartment we played in was FILTHY. Seemingly every horizontal surface was covered with books, loose papers, and miniatures. The couch looked like a few hobos with diarrhea had been stabbed to death on it, and I couldn't find one clean glass when I was invited to get a glass of water. - My character lost all the starting equipment he purchased at character generation in a DM-fiated opening sequence and never got it back. Instead, he got some meager weapons and shoddy replacement equipment from some NPC's we hooked up with later. - The DMNPC who hobnobbed with the powerful "name" wizards of Waterdeep, and told us humble PC's that he could kill us all if we crossed him. I know this was a DMNPC since the DM had told me all about the former PC's glorious exploits previously. - A tedious amount of target practice in which we played out shooting at targets with arrows . Just rolling against the assigned AC and seeing if we hit or not. If I recall correctly, this was part of training when we joined up with the previously mentioned NPC's. No actual benefits or penalties from the target practice, as far as I could tell. Just, y'know, shooting at inanimate objects for a while. - The DM let me know that he greatly appreciates it if players let him borrow D&D books that he didn't have. He also made it very clear that he does NOT lend out his own books (not that I asked). - One of the players wore a t-shirt from (I think) a furry convention that had a picture of an anthropomorphic fox coyly pulling down the front of his pants and giving the viewer a "come hither" smile. This was quite off-putting. After one PC-creation session and one regular gaming session of that, my work schedule mysteriously changed and I was unable to keep playing. Funny how that works!
