Walking the promenade

The characters in my game are going to visit the promenade in suzail (Cromyr, faerun, sz17 1dk) and was wondering what to add? I'm going to have a general combat equipment shop, A fletcher(y/s?), an armour house, a magic shop, a music shop, and their barracks where there money is stored. What happens after that doesn't happen in the promenade. This is the latest store, it's pretty much short hand so I remember what they all are

DC 15 Weapon shop. Everad’s combat emporium, A well worn man sits in the corner of a room, his face darkened by the shadow of the metal bars on the window, on the wall hand rows and rows of mundane weapons, behind the man behind the desk. There is a large wooden shield reinforced with metal (Arrow deflecting) (4,157gp), The man has a piece of chain shirt on the desk (Slick) (5,000gp), A piece of moldy-looking hide armour with a leaf pattern on it (wild) (16,165gp), In the back is a large red and spiky piece of armour, it is chained down by what looks like steel lined with copper, and is surrounded by runes (Demon 52,260gp), along side which is a smooth looking armour (Half-plate of ease 4,750gp) . Hung on two short poles is a very long and sharp dagger (Keen 8,302 gp), next to it is a war hammer with its sharp end in the shape of a talon (Thundering 8,312gp), on the other side is a weirdly shaped stave with hooked and clawed edges, it looks strangly aerodynamic (Throwing ankus 12, 315gp). The last unique item is a whip with pieces of glass in it (Mighty cleaving Nagaika 8,325gp)

Are you looking for kinds of stores to put in the promenade, or things to put in a specific store?

If it's the former, you should consider picking up Bluffside - hundreds of places of interest, with details NPC stats, and plot hooks for every one of them. You'll never be without a leatherworker, or herbalist, or really just about anything, ever again.

I am looking for existing shops in Suzail, but as I haven't found any I've decided to put together shops of my own.

Sorry it's been a while, I've got some more but i should space them out.

DC 12 Fletcher. Aradle’s Quality Fletchers, A thin, well kept gnome sits behind the counter; he smokes a pipe and is surrounded by projectiles of all sorts. In a glass cabinet is a row of slings, one of which has a much longer strand of leather (distance) (8,300gp). On the other side of the room is another cabinet with a small bow in it, the string looks razor thin string (Seeking short bow might +2 8,525gp), stuck into a block of wood hung on the wall are three axes each has a warped and curved shape ( returning throwing axes 8,308gp), on the wall behind the gnome is a large rack with 6 shiny Javelins (+1, 2,301gp) in the middle is a Javelin with a lightning motif (Javelin of lightning 1,500gp) and on the desk is a small pot of 50 odd darts (+1 2,300gp), in a larger, similar bucket are packs of 50 arrows each with gnomish tags on them (Flaming-thundering 2,350gp), next to these are another bucket filled with bolts with pictures of screaming people(Screaming 267gp)) the last item to be displayed is a single shiny metal plated cross bow (Chaotic Outsider bane 8,350gp)

Oh if you see any incorrect pricings, don't hesitate to say.

DC 20 Potions. Potion emporium. A tall and tired looking man with a long nose is behind a desk inexpertly trying to play a clarinet, around him are desks adorned with quality clothes, on which are vials and pots and flasks filler with all sorts of potions:

DC 18 Rings, Scrolls, Magics. Tinlker’s Trinkets. A Small man with a multi coloured hat and flash clothes he greats you warmingly, surrounding you are rings and scrolls and gadgets, as the elf walks back to the desk you realise that a silver rod is in the middle of the room, in mid air (Immovable rod 5,000gp). Scrolls pined on the wall, up to 3rd level, and some wands:

And shuffled around the shop are all sorts of magic trinkets, contraptions and widgets (All Minor wondrous items up to 5,000gp) unfortunately when asked about them he says he doesn’t know what a lot of them do.

I though it would be good to point out that the DC at the start of each shop is Gather information check need to find the shops.

I honestly don't see why there would be a Gather Info DC for legal shops. IMC, legal shops are a bit more pricey (taxes and all that), while illegal shops are cheaper but dicey -- stolen wands are unlikely to have a full 50 charges, for example -- and have a Gather Info DC to find.

You can't just stroll blind folded into a city and find a shop. I put it there so they have some kind of interaction with the city people.

Dont forget to throw in dealers of the rare and exotic. Spices, Silks, Tobacco etc. There is a shop in Ashabenford (Mistledale) that deals in these things which are imported from Cormyr.

Cheers,
