A share of the loot goes to the Party- healing wands, scrolls, etc are made out of that. XP cost soaked up by whom ever makes it. Our party generally carries Restoration scrolls, and such on their individual gear list- "I need a restoration if you have one. No- okay, here's a scroll." Costly components are carried or supplied by the group or as the above scroll suggestion carried by the individual party members. Fighters with 250 gp worth of diamond dust mixed in with some granite dust so the wizard will cast stone skin on him- ya, it happens. Our rogue handed over diamonds for Revivify just recently- then asked for them back when the Cleric got Party loot that included diamonds for just that purpose (it was not part of his share, but a planned division). Thing that I like to consider now a days is that this loot you speak of it make believe, its not real, so why get all bent out of shape about it. Why not share? This is a team hobby, not an individual trying to best those people around him by collecting more make believe items. You do not win if you have more stuff then you fellow players. Have fun, supply your cleric with components, hand over a wand of Magic Missiles to the wizard- "just don't sell it," should be stated if the Player has a history of doing so.
