[QUOTE="Seraphael, post: 121299, member: 2003"] I wrote this prestige class with the intent of allowing monks to become true masters of the martial arts by gaining a number of bonus feats to acheive mastery of unarmed combat. I wanted to give them some ability at 10th level to reflect that mastery, but I think that the fact that they should qualify for 2-3 martial arts masteries by the time they reach 10th level might be a bonus enough. Anyway, the earliest that a character can qualify for the class is 5th level (as a 3/2 fighter/monk or 2/3 fighter monk) due to the fact that the required mastery of an unarmed combat style requires a minimum of 6 feats (including Improved Unarmed Strike) and the list of bonus feats is exactly the same as the list that allow the monk to trade out their class abilities for (Stunning Fist, Deflect Arrows, Improved Trip and Improved Evasion). Also, if you can come up with a better name to include non-monks who qualify I'd love to hear it. Wandering Monk The traditional path of a monks' training begins with mastery of the body and progresses to mastery of the mind, spirit and soul. Those monks begin by attempting to master the martial arts and eventually abandon that pursuit to follow the mysticism that is taught by their masters. Some monks, however, never give up their attempt to master physical combat. They often find themselves ill at ease among their more spiritually motivated brethren and eventually leave to pursue their desire to master the combination of Ki and combat arts. They become wanderers who seek out training from the masters of other martial arts forms in an attempt to create the perfect combat form. Occasionally, however, members of other classes become wandering monks in the hopes of acheiving master of the martial arts. Hit Dice: d8 Requirements: Base Attack Bonus: +4 Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike Special: Mastery of at least one martial arts style Class Skills: The Wandering Monk's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), Tumble (Dex) ( See Chapter 4: Skills in the Player's Handbook for skill descriptions. Skill points at each level: 4 + Int modifier Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Wandering Monks gain no special proficiency with any weapon or armor. Monk Abilities: A Wandering Monk has the unarmed damage, AC bonus, and the speed of a monk with as many monk levels as her wandering monk levels plus her monk levels (if any). Add the Wandering Monk's Base Attack Bonus derived from her monk levels to that derived from her wandering monk levels and consult table 3-1 of OA. Ki Strike: They gain (or advance) the Ki Strike ability as if their Wandering Monk levels were also normal monk levels (Ki Strike +1 at 10 total levels, +2 at 13 total levels and +3 at 16 total levels) Bonus Feat: A Wandering Monk gains one of the following feats each time a bonus feat is aquired: Combat Reflexes (Grappling Block), Deflect Arrows*, Dodge (Defensive Throw, Great Throw, Karmic Strike, Mobility, Whirlwind Attack), Expertise (Defensive Strike, Improved Disarm, Improved Trip*), Fists of Iron, Improved Grapple (Choke Hold, Earth's Embrace), Iron Will (Remain Conscious), Ki Shout (Great Ki Shout), Lightning Reflexes (Prone Attack), Power Attack (Eagle Claw Attack, Flying Kick, Roundabout Kick), Stunning Fist** (Falling Star Strike, Freezing the Lifeblood, Pain Touch, Unbalancing Strike) Ant time after their total Wandering Monk level plus any Monk levels is equal to or greater than 9, they can choose to spend a feat (bonus or normal) and receive the full benefits of the improved evasion ability. *The monk does not need to meet the dexterity requirement for Deflect Arrows or have expertise to gain Improved Trip **If they select this feat they gain the Monks Stunning Fist class ability rather than the feat (although they are nearly identical) Class Level Base Attack Bonus Fort Save Ref Save Will Save Special 1st +0 +2 +2 +2 Monk Abilities.
