Since my recent doubts about the future of 5E, and some time spent with the Elder Scrolls games, I decided to completely redraw the skeletal basis of a homebrew roleplaying system I was using on my message boards - through the experience with TES games, I decided skill-based system (which organises those skills in packets in the form of more traditional classes) is much more flexible and pretty much universal, allowing you to play almost any concept imaginable, and allowing a simple class for someone who doesn't want too much combination as well. To the point: Because my old group is finally completely falling apart, I will need a couple of people who'd be willing to play online to test the system I'm starting to design. Essentially, I found grouping the skills around combat (in various forms, including magical and stealth), social skills (diplomacy, persuasion, disguise, etc.) and crafting is probably the best way to give people roles without straight-jacketing them into small niches like D&D4. So what I need to test, is how different concepts of characters, based on mixing those elements, come up in different situations, and if any of the categories wouldn't be terribly unbalanced in a typical gaming group. Place: Agora 2.0 - Index. All's online and in English, but you won't find much in terms of guidelines to the total system revamp right now. Two of my old players are having their own adventures in our native language, so we would set up a separate group to test the new stuff. So if you want to help me with my goals, message me there, we will set everything up in private. Time: Our tradition is not to have a set session time. We just post whenever we come into the forum. Yes, that can stretch the time, but we're used to doing it that way. However, if I get multiple testers who'll prefer set time, I will do it. Hope to see you there, and thanks for attention.
