Beautiful, her parents schemed as to who would be able to wed their daughter, thereby increasing their status and wealth amongst the ruling noble houses.</p><p> Little did they realize that another was watching as well. Melinda began having dreams at the age of 12, they invariably ended the same way every time. They ended with Melinda standing before an empty throne, flaming sword in hand, whilst a weeping figure loomed in the background. It all came to a head on the 13th anniversary of her birth when a winged angel came to her in her sleep and bid her seek out the Temple of Tunea, the Mistress had a need for her.</p><p> She was admitted without question and began acolyte training. It soon became apparent that she lacked the talents needed to be a full priestess. However, her innocence and charm got her squired to a Paladin, Sir Roger Lavant. She quickly rose in the ranks of the Church as a faithful paladin, and received her knighthood in her 19th year, faster than any before. </p><p> Her parents were furious, but Melinda believes that her mistress guides her and willingly has pledged herself to serving her Goddess in the field as a agent of good. Recently, she has discovered that she is to search for and hopefully protect, the last living heir to the Empire of the West, hopefully bringing about the end of the Regency and restoring the Emperor's family to their rightful place.</p></blockquote><p></p>
