D&D 3E/3.5 War Wizard from Cormyr 3.5

First Post
Looking at the various posts on Wizards Website it looks like the War Wizard from Cormyr was not going to be in the PGtFR.

As the book now appears to be out, I wonder if anyone who has happened to get hold of it could tell me if an update of the War Wizard is indeed inluded, or if I have to go and make something up.

But don't break the copyrights and post the whole thing - just let us know if it is inlcuded, thank you!

Thanks in advance!

Generally, the philosophy at Wizards has been that "If we don't revise it, you can use it as-is, and probably be fine, until we do".

In other words, as far as Wizards is concerned, if the class is not revised in the new book, it is because they did not think it was "broken enough" to worry about.

Naturally, you are free to make any changes you feel are necessary to suit your campaign. But don't feel compelled to re-write the class for 3.5 just because Wizards has not done so; that just means that they consider the 3.0 version "ok as is".

That does not mean they will never get around to re-writing the class. It could show up in 6 months (in Complete Arcane, whenever that comes out, like the Purple Dragon Knight showed up in Complete Warrior).

Well, war wizards gain an ability at level 5 that changes the 3.0 Widen from 50% bigger radius to double radius. The 3.5 Widen is already at double. So I'd let them use Widen for 3x instead. I can't think of any other abilities that would require change.

Maybe mess with their skill list a bit, 3.5 wizards get more skills than 3.0 ones. Either treat the skill loss as a penalty for taking a full casting class, or add some military type skills to the list.

Yeah, what Victim said. I'd add, at most, "Knowledge: Tactics" and maybe "Knowledge: Logistics and Military Supply" to their class-skilsl list (if "all knowledges" isn't already there, IDHMBIFOM).
