Here's an interesting Warcraft campaign idea I brainstormed today, while at work. Essentially, it's a continuation from the events of Warcraft III and it's expansion, featuring further changes in the status quo on Azeroth. Episode I, the Light Crusade: The battered Alliance is at it's straining points, each member race tugging in it's own direction, threatening to shatter, until one day, a growing cult of Light believers arises that seeks to unite the Alliance under a single banner however, the banner of the cause of Reclaiming the lands lost to the Scourge. This radical cult is lead by a Human claiming to be the agent of a race of beings called the Seraphim, ancient adversaries of the Burning Legion. He claims these Seraphim have thrown in their lot with the races of the Alliance, and wish to aid them in reclaiming their homeland lost to the Scourge and the Burning Legion, in exchange for their aid in vanquishing the Legion's masters. The cause of Holy War would rally the spirits of many of the Alliance's members, still licking their wounds from their loss to the Scourge and nursing thoughts of vengance. The High Elves in perticular would be extatic about the idea of reclaiming Quel'Tha'las, and of learning more about the Seraphim's magics as a possible solution to their magic addiction problem. The long-absent Gnomes would also be more then happy to provide the crusade with bold new weapons of war, fruits of invention and magic, such as battle golems, airships and other warmachines. Episode II, The Tides of Blood: Sylvanus Windrunner's faction of Undead Forsaken is losing grounds against the growing Crusade, and to make things worst, the Forsaken themselves are weakening for reasons unknown to them. Sylvanus herself is in such dire straits that when Kel'Thusad approaches her, offering her a bold solution to her and the Forsaken's woes, she finds herself forced to accept his aid. This aid turns out to be a transformation ritual which requires the Forsaken to drink demon blood, which infuses them with newfound power, both physical and occult, but at the cost of making them hungry for more blood... human blood, elven blood, orc blood, etc.. In short, the Forsaken become Vampires. Also, much to Sylvanus' dismay, the ritual made them slaves of the Lich King again, who uses them as a new weapon against the races of the Crusade. Episode III, which is only a sketchy concept right now, would involve a civil war within the Horde, between Thrall's folllowers and a vastly growing faction of rogue orcs, trolls of various races, ogres and the like, as well as the defecting Night Elves. This growing faction would favor reinforcing the Horde's might through "alliances" with other races such as the Night Elves (who left the Alliance during the rise of the crusades).
