kinda early on that isn't it?

Though it might have even weaker Sat/Sun numbers since word is spreading on how many feel is deserved a PG-13 rating.

I've seen it. I liked it. The Children weren't so perfect like they were in the first movie (where, aside from Edmund, they seemed to do no wrong). The movie's diversion from the book was mostly to give the characters more personality, and to give Aslan a reason to show up (the books were kinda weak in that respect).

Way too early to tell on box office returns... I meant to see the movie but didn't realize it was out until commercials on TV said so. I could see this one raking in cash several weeks, except it has the poor fortune to be flanked by Iron Man and Indiana Jones (kinda like Princess Bride was "blessed" with Back to the Future back in the 80's).

Good movie. Maybe it's just me, but the kids are always saved at the nick of time?

Second, the costumes were good, but I always get the feeling the characters clothes were dry-cleaned. They must use the same dry-cleaner on Monroe. ;)

I did enjoy the duel though.

The same people who did the effects/made a lot of the costume pieces and props were the same guys who did Lord of the Rings stuff. So you know they're capable of making the darker, grittier, more real costume pieces, but that what they've done in Narnia was actually a conscious choice. They wanted to make it more like the shining kid's fantasy world -- which I like, as it makes the moments of reality and horror much more sickening. The hag and the werewolf were both terrifying, and really jarred in the midst of the sparkle of the world. Same goes with the gloomy Telmarine castle -- very dark and gritty in there, at a strong contrast to the four children, and Caspian later when he gets his new gear.

I picked on Narnia about the dry-cleaned clothes, however, many other movies and TV shows are guilty, too.

Interesting that it could have been a conscious choice.

Yeah, I definitely went 'meh' the first time I saw the first Narnia assets... but it's definitely grown on me the more I'm seeing of what they're doing in the world.

Saw it last night, and... wow... just amazing.

I had a tremendously good time - Prince Caspian was very enjoyable. From one of the best infiltration scenes ever put on screen, to some of the coolest infiltrators I've ever seen (Reepacheep and his merry band of... well... vicious throat-slitting assassins), this movie had pretty much everything I wanted to see and much more. What was particularly good was that it really took advantage of the fantastic creatures and their abilities - very interesting to see. I was also impressed that it gave a lot of screen time (and usefulness) to all the Pevensie children and Prince Caspian as well as still being able to give the side characters time and personalities.

Narnia was the movie I wanted to see the most this May, and no question I was right in that.

Yaay! I'm glad you liked it! I totally agree about the infiltration scene, by the way... I was on the edge of my seat, and kept looking to see if anyone else was as blown away as I was, only to see everyone around me just glued to the screen as well.

Reepicheep was FANTASTIC. I was so worried they were going to reduce him to comic relief in a bad way -- but instead they totally respected him and his role in the books, and I thought it was so well done. (And, where he can't hear me and protest -- SO CUTE.)

In the books, when I was little, I never thought about Prince Caspian one way or the other... but daayumn, Ben Barnes is hot...
