Hello. I'm DMing a D&D adventure set in the future of the Warhammer Fantasy realm. It is actually part of several linked campaigns. I thought it would be fun to share my group's campaign setting for those who might appropriate it. Also, I could use some help with rules, monsters, etc. It would just be nice to have a discussion about this since I can't divulge the specifics to the players. Story Summary An advancement of the Warhammer Fantasy world, these campaigns occur 1000 years after a summit of elves, humans, and dwarves detonated a warp-eater bomb in an attempt to rid the material realm of the taint of chaos. After a millennium below ground in spell-shielded holds or in warded sky cities, it has become clear that chaos has not been wholly expunged; indeed, the winds of magic have been corrupted causing many of the beasts and folk of the world to become mutated or otherwise infused with daemonic taint. Our heroes venture out to survey the world in its altered state and endeavor to recruit allies against the chaotic forces from the lands outside the Old World ('Europe'). Since the bomb was detonated without consulting or informing most other nations, their reaction is predictably suspicious of the party. We are doing a series of campaigns set at the dawn of this new age of reconciliation and turmoil (Year 0). This spin off of the Fantasy realm gives the DMs great license to design adventures while providing players with the grounding of a familiar history, geography, and political context. Some Questions 1) Does anyone have any suggestions for a monster to represent cave squigs? For those that don't know what those are, they are basically a toothy ball with legs that eats everything in sight. 2) Do players know when a spell is cast upon them? Say for instance, entering a door triggered a spell trap which cast a glamour spell on them such as reflective disguise. More info and questions coming soon. Any Warhammer fans out there? What do you think?
