I put this up on another forum, but I want to capture a greater range of opinions, so I've decided to post here too. Anywho, I basically summarised the frame of the class below for quick and easy reading. Could I please have your thoughts on how to balance it against the core and base classes?
Warlock
Hit die: d6
BAB: low
Good saves: Will
Class skills: Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Knowledge (History) (Int), Knowledge (The Planes) (Int), Profession (Wis), Spellcraft (Int), Stealth (Dex), and Use Magic Device (Cha).
Skill ranks per level: 2 + Int modifier
Weapon and armour proficiencies:
*Proficient with all simple weapons
*Not proficient with any armour or shield
*Armour interferes with spell casting
Invocations (Su)
*Do not consume spell slots. Can be casted any number of times/day.
*Save = 10 + ½ the warlock’s level + the warlock’s Charisma modifier
1st level: eldritch blast
4th level: darkvision
7th level: dispel magic
10th level: dimension door
13th level: overland flight
16th level: telekinesis
19th level: plane shift
Eldritch blast
*Ranged touch attack
*Range: close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
*Saving throw: Will partial
*Spell resistance: Yes
*1d6 damage, increases by 1d6 at 3rd level and every second level thereafter. Maximum of 10d6 at 19th level
*Target must make will save or be shaken for two rounds
Spells
*To learn: warlock must have intelligence score = 10 + spell level
*Save = 10 + ½ the warlock’s level + the warlock’s Intelligence modifier
*Spells known: as Sorcerer
*Spells per day: as Sorcerer
*Spell list: as Witch
Bonus feat: Silent Spell
Resistance (Ex)
*One energy type chosen at 2nd level
2nd level: resistance 5
11th level: resistance 10
20th level: immunity
Arcane specialisation
*Specialise in one school of magic, chosen at 1st level
*At 3rd level, and every two levels thereafter up to 19th level, an additional spell from the chosen school of specialisation is added to the warlock's spell list
*The first spell chosen must be a level-one spell, the second spell chosen must be a level-two spell, and so on
